Where to find GOOD custom worlds?
Sarafina:
My Sims Realty worlds are nice, but I will warn everyone that most of the ones there have the whole neighborhood built in the same style (i.e. every house has the same overall look as they all use the same siding/bricks and same palate and type of build mode objects) and that bothered me a bit. I know neighborhoods can be like that, but having everyone in town have the same colors on their houses is yuck. The neighborhoods are lovely and playable, so it's a personal thing.
I second Neverglade, been playing it for weeks and absolutely love it.

I think I have downloaded and tried something like 19 worlds. I like variety. :)
I also love SimRealtor's worlds although I haven't tried Cape Cavell; she does quality work and always includes houses and sometimes sims or a saved game. She will often also post additional lots to place in her worlds. Other favorites include Heartbreak Island by Rflong7, Fort Sim by ehaught58 (who has some of the most unique community lots I've ever seen and who has also posted additional lots to place in your game), and Red County by coasterboi, which has a cool city / CA coast vibe. I also thought Coconut Island was a lot of fun, and really like Fargo posted here by The Goddess; I understand she's going to have an AMB update soon which I'm looking forward to downloading.
Johnnywyr's world is called Saskan Harbour and when I played it last, I had a lot of routing issues and resulting freezes. I also tried Neverglade and I know it's very popular, and can't really put my finger on why, but my reaction was 'eh'. The only other world mentioned that I haven't tried is Liberty Bay, so I guess I'll try that one next.

I agree that My Sims Realty worlds are nice, but I personally find the homes to be more than a major annoyance. The front door in most lots steps into the kitchen, and in a preponderance of the homes, there is no dining area, nor room to put one. The worlds themselves are lovely. I especially like "Glen Meadow," but I deleted it because I got so irritated by the badly designed and cramped custom homes.
Fort Sims by ehaught58 has terrific lots, but an indifferent attention to detail in the overall design of the world downgrades it significantly in my opinion. And there were few if any spawners included.
Heartbreak Island is very good, well designed and great playability. I just felt that the "Broken Heart" theme was a little cutesy and overdone. But that's a subjective matter. The world itself is very good.
Also, try "Longview," which I cannot find fault with. It's good looking, numerous lots and room for expansion. But not as beautiful as "Saskan Harbor," in my opinion. And as for routing issues in "Saskan Harbour," I have not found that to be a problem at all. Perhaps different versions have been uploaded?
ElectricSimmer:
I reckon Red County at the BBS is pretty good. Based on LA and it is HUGE! Most lots are furnished and filling it with Sims shouldn't be a problem with spawnmoreoverlords.
BlueSoup:
Simsample made Sanctuary, which is actually really nice, but very large. He also includes custom lots.
