Sims Unable to Change/Quit Careers

Spaz:
I recently experienced a problem with one of my sims not being able to join the Firefighter career.

That led me to trying to make him quit via the phone and then apply, but no matter how I do it, my sim just can not quit his job. I also tried with his parents, one level 10 Law Enforcement and on Self-Employed Writer. Only the Writer could quit his "job."

Now as I tried over and over again I noticed that when I do it via the cell phone, the sim kind of "resets" after going through the regular process. The sim would call, I'd get the usual prompts asking if I'm sure I want to quit, and a notification that I quit. But when I check the career panel he is still in that career. When he does it on the laptop, it gets stuck open with the screen animating until someone interacts with it.

I hope/think that all made sense... <_<

Anyways, the CC/Hacks I have atm are Sims 3 Store items and Awesomemod.

Is there another new one? 0_o I just had mine expire two-three days ago, and got the newest then.

There are new updates at least several times a day.
