I'm getting the base game error myself, now. From using the launcher to patch, not even installing the game. The launcher, judging from the icons on the bottom, seems to think I installed ambitions. Great. I need to reinstall I think...:\

I'm still downloading the patch. I don't even have Ambitions on my computer at all, as it's still torrenting, so we'll see if I get an error message as well.

I guess I may as well just reinstall anyway. I've already backed up my documents sims 3 folder...Rather than getting everything installed and trying the patch again, I'll wait until ambitions finishes and install it all at once, I guess. :\ Assuming the patch breaks it for you, too.

I was able to play this game without using the cracks. I am using PowerISO to mount the iso file and am using Windows Vista.
I figured I'd let you guys know since playing it without cracks is better than fussing with cracks which will make it so you can't update the game and whatnot. Not sure which other programs besides PowerISO let you get past whatever CD checks they have in the game.
