Easels on community lots?

I seem to remember L&P from a long time ago where Artistic sims could take easels to community lots and do things like paint still lifes of the ocean, etc.  Logic suggests that this would involve putting an easel in the sim's inventory and then going to the community lot, but there doesn't seem to be a way to grab the easel while in live mode (with the sim's inventory open).  Does this feature really exist, and if so, how do you use it?

I have never seen the information or tried it in the game. I do place easels on community lots, especially by the beach, to paint scenery.

So you can buy them in Edit Town and place them then?  That would work too.  I was just kind of hoping that there would be some kind of portable easel that could be used anywhere, like the laptop.

That would be a cool way for an artist to make extra cash and hone their skills on community lots, sketching sims or selling previous work. Darn EA, they would never put that together.

Doesn't really exist in the game, though. Besides, sims can paint any work from anywhere, they don't actually have to go OUTSIDE to do it.
