Opening music won't stop playing!

Since updating patches and installing WA, the opening music won't stop playing. I can only hear the sound effects in my game if I zoom in while the loading music is still playing in the background and my Sims have lost their voices.  :-\ My game just crashed and ended without any error messages. I have removed the 5 custom hairs I had installed and still get the same results. I have no hacks or mods, just the many items I've got from here using the compressorizer. Since insalling WA my game often CTD but this time closed completely. Please advise.

After deleting options and deviceconfig files the sound was restored. I also noticed that the one family I sent on a vacation didn't have the same problem as the ones that hadn't gone yet.
