Great. No WA and no Sims 3.

Update: Found this site describing the Nvidia driver issue, followed the instructions (uninstall Nvidia drivers, download and reinstall the previous ones) and it works! *phew*
Here's hoping I haven't now crippled some other game which needed those drivers...wishful thinking?

Alright, I'll try that. Hopefully it'll work.
Edit: Now I'm getting a 'we were unable to verify that your disc is valid' error. Ugh. I tried re-patching, but to no avail. Will this thing ever work?

Awesomemod requires patch 1.8, or 2.3 if you've got WA installed, I have no idea if this is the cause however. You mentioned earlier that your version number is at 1.5, but despite patching higher?
I had to do things in the right order to get it all to work (took some time to work it all out let me tell you):
install the base game and patch to 1.5 using the file provided on the WA disc (/support/Updates - ask if you don't know which to use)install any custom content that requires the launcher now - some Store stuff won't install before patching to 1.5, and apparently you can't use the version 1.8 launcher to install CC without melting everythinginstall WA if you want (this requires you to be at version 1.5)apply the 1.8/2.3 patches - USING THE LAUNCHER TO INSTALL CC AFTER THIS CAUSES BAD SHIT TO HAPPENinstall Awesomemod
As far as I can judge, this is the required order and must be followed every time you install the game.
Run the game after every step to make sure it loads/CC appears etc.
Anyway, if you're installing patches and the version number isn't updating, I would suggest that something bad is happening and you probably need to uninstall and start again. After uninstalling I suggest deleting all folders/files left behind and starting from scratch. Make sure you're using the right patches (the long version number should end the same as the version you're on - 00002 probably)

Sorry, I didn't see this until today. I managed to fix it on my own. I uninstalled, reinstalled, patched to 1.2.7, cracked (changed the original TS3 file to a bak, just in case), and ran. It works normally again, thankfully. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. *hurries off to lurk more*
