Can I install WA into the Sims 3 directory?
Zamboni:
Or should I install it to a separate directory? The old exe seems to point to the new one anyway. Can I just install the expansion into the same directory and overwrite the old sims 3 files?
Homestar:
Short answer: no.
Long answer: noooooooooooooooooooooo.
Do not install WA in the original Sims 3 directory. You will probably break your install if you do that. There is a reason it defaults to a different directory.
old_dude:
It does work, and well. I installed mine in its own sub directory. In my case the tree looks like this:
D:\Games\Sims 3\WA
YMMV
KawaiiMiyo:
Why would you want to?
EA already has enough issues getting things to work as it is ^_~ No need to further confuse the game.

He is talking about installing it in the same directory, not a sub directory.
