Is There A Way To Stop Sims From Becoming Townies?

I don't have the sims 3 "story progression" on.
I have awesome mod and indie stone installed.

Thanks.

Do you mean you wish the game to cease creating townies, or are your playable Sims somehow wandering off to become non-playable "townies"?

The concept between "townies" is somewhat less clear in TS3. There is the "active fambly", the one you are ostensibly playing, the "NPC" famblies, meaning those you are NOT playing (even if you could play them), the Service NPCs (same as TS2), and the Homeless, which exist as fragments of data in the neighborhood, and can possibly be instantiated, but are not usually instantiated and cannot be found in the world.

Without story progression, sims will never become homeless without your intervention, although if aging exists, they could die of old age.

That never happens to me with Awesome Mod.  I believe if you have Indie and Awesome running at the same time then Awesome Mod is being over run by Indie.  I would disable Indie.  You can invite the Sim over with the Super Computer in the Pudding Factory and use Awesome Mod to add to family.

Okay. thank you guys for your insight.

I'm not sure if I can control my sims going homeless. Cause it seems to happen every time I start a new neighborhood or continue a generation.

Can my homeless sims grow old and die of old age then?

Cause my issue really is my sims going homeless and then being stuck -- meaning, they never grow or die and they remain "highlighted" in the family.

A sim can't "become homeless" and "remain hilighted" at the same time. Unfortunately, I have no idea what you're trying to say is actually happening.

I'm going to take a guess and say he's trying to say that the portrait in the family tree remains in full color and the character doesn't age or die, but the sim can't be found in the neighborhood.  I had that happen once or twice with Indie, once with a child who had been taken by CPS.

You are not running Awesome mod if that is happening.

I have had something similar to that happen, but not with families I am currently playing, only families I switched away from.  Usually what happens is someone decides to split from the household without having enough funds to do so, and becomes "homeless."  I familyfunds them, move them back in, and although it says they exist in a household, you can't call them, see them in town, they don't interact with other townies (no romance or going to work, etc) and they don't seem to age.  If you decide to go back and play that family, it has the icon for the sim but the sim is nowhere to be found.  Your posts are confusing but it sounds somewhat similar to this?

The Nraas Supercomputer mod has an option to retrieve wandering sims, which seems to fix the problem, if you wanted to give that a shot.

Coherent writing is preferred. Also, Remember your punctuation and capitalisation. You did it in your first post; you can do it again.

I also have something similar happen. It could be the Indie mod that caused it. I had Indie install for a little while and I hadn't played that particular family in a while. The mother just disappeared but she still shows up as someone the son knows but he can't call her. She had aged from the last time I had seen her and I wanted to make her young again so she wouldn't die but I couldn't figure out how to find her. It was kind of strange because I have had sims move out before, become homeless and if someone knew them they could call them and invite them over so you could then add the to the family. But I couldn't do her that way.

I like some of the features of Indie but it does seem to add problems like creating extra townies and such.

I think I will try that mod someone suggested. Thanks.
