1. You posted a houseplan house. Why? The plans are out there for anyone to follow. This isn't like MTS2, where you'll find the same house posted five times in separate months by different posters who all happened to find eplans.com.
Actually, the problem with MTS2 is that the posters DON'T use established plans. Instead, they go for weird stuff that happens to look good on the outside but which is rotten on the inside. Lately, one of the moderators has taken to posting houses with bathrooms which don't have toilets or sinks. Where is one supposed to pee? In the bathtub? And Sims are to go right from the toilet the preparing food without washing their hands? -- gross!
However, this plan reminds me of half of a duplex -- like the one I purchased 25 years ago. For this money, one can purchase a really nice home, which is furnished.
The problem with houses is that there are only so many places to stick one in the Sims world. And if you have too many houses, your population balloons. With over 100 houses being posted every day, something has to be really really good to merit a second look, let alone be downloaded.
As has been said about Karl Marx's writings: What is original is not good, and what is good is not original.
Dude, this is the second time you've found some old thread to revive so you could rant about all the houses at MTS. Why so butthurt?
I agree with you about the houses with just bathtubs. When I used a lot of plasticbox's houses in Sims 2, I always replaced the tubs with showers and added toilets. But as for sinks, they're actually near useless. Sims don't have the same hygiene issues as humans, there is no disease carrying bacteria to worry about. They don't get 'dirty hands', they just have a universal hygiene bar, and when that bar goes red, they emit green fumes that give themselves and others a bad moodlet. I do put sinks in my Sims' bathrooms for my own sense of completeness, just like I add the purely decorative toilet paper, but I rarely direct my Sims to use it. If they are low enough in hygiene, they take a shower.
As for your complaints about the ballooning population, I use awesomemod's storymode, and I have several empty houses in my neighborhood that no one has moved in to fill. The population only grows if you give your unplayed family cribs and beds. You only get immigrants to fill job positions required by your playable Sims. I've never had a ballooning population caused by having houses. I have a planned and sustainable population I control with awesomemod. Not everyone has the same issues as you.
