Pleasantview disappeared, and will not return. (fixed)

I have tried everything I can think of, and have tried replacing the N001 file with my backup, as well as one I got from a thread here. I have tried deleting the neighborhood file, in my documents, and even tried deleting the entire Sims2 directory. Is there another option?

Pleasantview didn't regenerate along with the only Maxis hoods when you deleted your Sims 2 folder?

Does the N001 data appear to be intact in your Program Files?

I had this happen too, and didn't get it back even after re-installing on a new machine. I'd given up looking. Just so it doesn't look like a one-person issue.
