Why aren't my mods working?

Cathy:
Did you delete the Cache files?

Enelen:
Do you have your mods in the same folder you have the other stuff? Mods>Packages? No subfolders? I had the same problem with IndieStone not working, but when I installed AM, it worked just fine. Thing is, I re-downloaded the resource.cfg from here when I installed it, and installed that in the right place, which is right in the Sims3 folder, not in mods. I haven't checked whether the Install Helper Monkey put it there or not in the first place... but judging from the fact that it won't install saved sims in the right folder, anything might be possible  :-\

AngerousAlex:
I'm having this problem also, but specifically with Awesomemod. All my other mods work fine. :/

Enelen:
Try getting the resource.cfg from the Awesome Mod thread, and put it in the Sims3 directory (in the program files, you are installing your mods there, I hope). Other than that, and deleting the cache files from My Documents, I have no idea... Also check if you don't have some weird core mods in your mods folder, that could override AM. I *thought* I'm not that stupid, but figures even I can make mistakes like that  ;)

It does, that is what I used to create one in the first place.

The problem might come from the Resource.cfg being replaced by another with different settings, I know Peggy downloads come with a Resource.cfg that have different contents and so things start to fail to work as it should.

And xSims also comes with a Resource.cfg with different contents and to add insult to injury, they make their downloads self-extracting applications (I have 7zip so I can extract their contents).
