Framework does not work: even without any CC, game fails to load with framework

I have tried updating .Net, however, this has not done anything. And here I was hoping that this was the solution... :-\

Any other ideas, how this could happen? I don't assume that there is a problem with my game itself, since it runs smoothly and without any problems at all, as long as I don't try mods...

Minime:
well, if it IS the anti-piracycheck, I wonder why it should only give me problems when I try using mods... Normally, I would expect it to jump into action regardless if I run the game vanilla or not...

Anyways, I'm checking now if your tips work (I always start the game directly via the exe, Never used the launcher..)

EDIT: tried, and did not work. Still the same old problem, with AM and without.

Motoki:
Well the Launcher seems to dump everything into My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Library/ so in theory I would think you could circumvent the launcher by taking any .sims3pack stuff from The Exchange and use Delphy's or JFade's program or one of the others (see here: http://www.simprograms.com/the-sims-3-programs/programs-the-sims-3-package-editors/ ) to extract it to package then dump it in there or even stash it in the mods directory, but I've not tried it.

Zazazu:
Try defragmenting your hard drive.

FYI, I now love Avast. While trying to do a search to see if I could find anything else on that error code, a site I browsed to apparently had a Trojan. The alarm scared the shit out of me, but was much better than getting infected.

Minime:
Still no success. I've defragmented my hard drive over night, but there is no change. Still throwing that error at me.
