Found objects! Stylist Sims has a modern set of furniture available. Link- http://www.stylistsims.net/sims3/objects_01.html . I have not tried it in game yet but I wanted to pass it along anyway.
Note that these look like they are for Sims 2 but they are not. They are definitely Sims 3.
I am so happy to see this. Trying it out now, as this has made my eyes moist with excitement.
Trying them out myself, as soon as my dial-up collects them from the net.
Edit: Nice use of a custom logo to show it was downloaded. :)
Everything works in game, the chair/couch however default to brown coloring instead of black [like the thumbnail], so you have to recolor them yourself.
Also the bookshelf is not a bookshelf, and does not have the collision data for a object that size.

Everywhere I try to host it, it gets deleted for being 'inappropriate content' :-\

While on skins i hope some nice modder will be able to do a conversion of Enaylas awesome skintones to TS3
The only thing i dont like so far is a lot of the skintones have horrible dark blotchy patches on them , but that may be the way the ingame lighting works

[snip pic]
The deco bookshelf has only one footprint under the middle section bracket. That's why the sim can run through it. I usually don't make houses with large areas for that kind of deco, so I probably will not keep it in the game. There are texture issues, but this is beta, as the tool used is beta also. I am just happy to have something else to use in the game, for now.

I guess footprint is the term for this?
