THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Is there any way to overwrite a different hairstyle?  I like this new one but I want the Mohawk.  Too bad they didn't replace that horrid mullet.

Oh yeah, I'd vote out the mullet too. Or that dorky Christopher Steel hair. He's actually not so ugly once given different coiffage. I'd leave in the combover as it's realistic for aged boss Sims in particular.

So you say now, but have you had a sim breed with him?  Ugh.  My Legacy founder picked him as a significant other (because despite the fact he has a house, he's not rich), and all 3 kids ended up with his nose.  Ewww.

The back of that style is interesting.  And not in the good way.

Heh, funny you should mention that...twice now, he's been the chosen romantic interest of my played Sims, and both times while my Sim wasn't looking, he somehow spawned (though I chose to perceive it as adoption, since there were no women involved) and showed up to a date with his boyfriend (my current Sim, and the one before him in an independent instance of the town) with an ankle-biter in tow. My Sims certainly didn't impregnate him, since I don't have any of those type mods installed. Anyway, the first child was a girl, and she wasn't beautiful, but she wasn't bad, either. The second time it was a boy, and yeah, he was a cute toddler, but he's a fug teen now. My current Sim stopped seeing him and found a child-hater to date. Because, damn it, if he wanted spawn, he'd at least like to be part of the process!

And that's one of many reasons I've wanted to use it. Alas, no matter how I perform the installation dance of "remove caches, install enablescripterror.package, restart game, remove enablescripterror.package, remove caches, restart game, lather, rinse, repeat," I cannot get the game to finish launching with it installed. I'm not interested in using 3booter, because I'm a damn compulsive perfectionist and even if it eventually gets the game to launch all the way, it doesn't tell me what's borked that keeps it from working every time. Plus, I just don't like the potential for locking up the system I see as part of forcing repeated rapid launch attempts.

I think next time I start a fresh town, I'm going to try replacing my framework, as that seems to be the only test I haven't performed.

Can anyone confirm that this is still crashing their game, a la Peggy's first half-assed attempt?

My Christopher Steel dated military man Dave Ramsey in my arr'd game. What would the lieutenant do if he found out about Ramsey's gay lover? In L'Horror Vrai, I deleted him as soon as I bought the game.

The hair looks nice, might try to download it, but I too would enjoy more low-cut hairstyles. The combover looks strange on any sim who's not Middle-Aged or an Elder.

Whoever said upthread that the "bitter" complainers should just grab some meshing tools and make what they want is probably right.

I edited one of the female hairs to remove the ugly pineapple flip attached to the back.  Minor, sure, but I'll just make myself some clean-cut hairstyles in future.  Thanks for the scornful tip! Smiley

Now that looks nice and still keeps the theme of the original. Having finally stabilised my game, I'll give it a go. Much neater.

Oh, but no download link. Are you just teasing?  Huh

Sorry, not intentionally - I've never offered anything for download before now, and I don't want to screw up anyone's game.  Hopefully it will work (it does in mine).

Let me know if you run into any problems using it.  It still contains the "knot" at the back at the moment, but I could take it out if people preferred it that way.

Bah, I wish it replaced that horrific mullet.  Noob question:  If I install this as a replacement, and they figure out how to *add* it to the game in a later download, can I uninstall this file, or will it adhere itself to my game?

No, later removing it should cause no problems at all. Many people removed Peggy's mesh when it was crashing games, and no one reported any borkage.

Hmm, I can already see that custom content for this game, as with its predecessor, is going to be proliferated with funky layered Asian cuts and moist wet look skins.

The Anny May crowd seems to be drawn to Sims, so many of its creators will be.

Given that Sims have huge eyes by default, it's not that much of a stretch. Ever tried creating a Sim that looks human?

Well that is what My Sims is for.  Grin

I have made some fairly human-like sims for TS2 with a good bit of tweaking and custom content. I kind of haven't bothered yet in this game. *shrug* So far I've just been playing mostly.

Has anybody had these problems with SAU's new hair?  I don't get it, it shows up fine in CAS but when you get in game it looks like this!? WTF?

Of course I'm right! Wink I phrased it a touch sharply, but I wholeheartedly meant it as advice--creative stuff is not unapproachably difficult even for people who don't think they're all that creative--it's not really a mystical inborn talent. It's worth giving a go if it doesn't look like anyone else will make the things you'd like. It's a variation on the old chestnut of "If you want something done right, do it yourself."

It's empowering, damn it.

FWIW, I'm just getting into meshing myself. It's not easy, but despite all the admonishments of "OMG it's so impossibly difficult!" it's... really not. I can imagine it's much harder for anyone with spatial visualization issues, though.

Grabbing your hair fix. I really wanted to like that hair, but pineapple is a very apt word to describe the back.

Haha yeah. Annoyance is the mother of invention. I've modded in the past a little for TS2 and a lot for Morrowind and mainly because either aspects of the game annoyed me or I wanted something in the game that was missing.

I love the look of this new hair.  Not sure why so many people want SHORT corporate looking hair for men...lol.   There is nothing less sexy than reaching up to run your fingers through his hair and finding....a crew cut....or anything resembling what the masses wear.

Really? I disagree.
This must be why people make - or, in TS3's case, are still trying to make - so many different kinds of custom content.

I like variety, but I also have personal preferences. I'd also like to see more of what I'd call "classic" male styles, which aren't all about hair sticking off in every direction or this retro-nauseating bowl-cut that was hideous when I was a kid and 20 years before that when the Beatles did it and has come back yet again, much to my aesthetic dismay.

I wish people made hairstyles for Sims who actually get haircuts.  Almost every custom style I saw for TS2 was long, messy or otherwise unkempt.  The trend continues.

Most short haircuts, especially for men, look the same, so there isn't much to do with them. I imagine that meshing messy hair is more fun and interesting as well, because there's more to work on.

Of course, I could easily be biased, as I love messy hair.

I think saying short hair all looks the same is quite subjective.  I never said all long/messy hair looks the same; just that there is a plethora of it available, moreso than short.  I think it's a shame the majority of creators seem to prefer that style, mostly because it means less variety across the board.  Short hair looks short.  Long hair looks long.  Not much to do with either, I suppose.

And I can't say that I agree that running your fingers through short hair isn't sexy - or at least, my boyfriend doesn't seem to think so of mine.

Hmm, I can already see that custom content for this game, as with its predecessor, is going to be proliferated with funky layered Asian cuts and moist wet look shiny skins.

Yeah, sucks ay?

I had huge problems finding decent default skins in TS2 that weren't giving off that inner glow. Ghastly. The bit I really don't get is why people rave about the realism of the shiny skins. To me they all looked like they had big white patches on the cheeks and foreheads, like some kind of Michael Jackson inspired skin condition.
