AWESOMEMOD & SCRIPT HACKS: CRASH ISSUES THREAD
Karen:
Xyo, thank you for the quick response! I didn't have any idea that there was supposed to be a Files subdirectory, let alone what was supposed to go in it. It's working now, no errors, with the awesomemod installed. Whew! :)

Well, I've tried all kinds of different configs and it's always crashing at 1:00am, with a couple of exceptions.
1. If I load a family that's saved about 12:05am (after midnight), they have a fifty-fifty chance of getting through
2. If I create a config that disables everything, it crashes around 6:00pm???
So, if you absolutely don't want to roll back, I suggest saving just after midnight. I did more testing with a save that starts around 3pm, and that guy had no chance to get through 1:00am, none whatsoever.

On the 1:00am crash, I was getting it consistently so I started playing aroud with different configs.
So far, I've been able to sail through 1:00am with the following options disabled.
NoBusKills
NoBusMutilation
NoBusFiring
I was able to get past 1:00 too by removing these from the config.

Okay, add me to the list of crashing games. I have had no trouble up until today with the latest version. I have done everything that has been suggested. Nothing works. Not even putting an earlier version of the awesome mod back in. Not even with only the awesome mod running (I only had HPs skins and patterns in since yesterday). I am at a loss. I am going to try reinstalling and going with a vanilla game until these issues have been solved. Such a shame though. The one thing that I can add is that I do not shut down my computer everyday. It only is rebooted whenever there are updates. I am not sure if one occurred and it rebooted and that is why I am now having problems. None of this makes logical sense at all.
One question though: why is the d3dx9_31.dll only 73.5 kb when the same dll in my windows\system32 is 2.30 mb? Is there a chance that there is a conflict?

IIRC, you are putting it in the wrong place. I doesn't go under my documents---->Electronic Arts, it goes under my computer---->Electronic Arts. It is all explained in the rtfm.
I'm so sorry for all my confusion, I'm very technologically challenged. When I click on Computer-->The Sims 3, it brings me to the files that are on my disc. Are you saying I need to burn the files to the disc? When I try pasting the files there that's the only option I get.
I mean the program files under my computer not the files on the disc. You just drag and drop. If you open the manual, it says the exact place you need to put them.
