As far as i know their server is case sensitive. A while back one would get a login box when trying to access the exchange page however if you used a capital for the E in exchange you could access it without logging in.
Perhaps those that aren't working need a capital in one place or another?

I guess it only works with hair "/ That's all I was downloading anyways.

I have to do this to get images from various image accounts for my fan site, alexzworld.com
Well, that last thing is kinda easy.
I think we already had it in the previous days. Type this in address field: sims3://download/?assetId= and put in the ID of the Sim or Lot. You can look it up on the Add to Game Button by right clicking on it and looking up preferences. There's for example javascript:downloadAsset(27317);.
