How to identify custom content used?

Try moaning to Mootilda, if she hasn't given up modding TS2. She knows everything worth knowing about lot packages. She may even be able to speculate on how to identify CC used in a lot properly.
Mootilda:
No, I haven't given up modding TS2. The lot package has an array with every object used on the lot. The LotAdjuster uses that list to find the portals, phone booth, garbage can, and mailbox, so that it can move things to the correct location.
However, I'm not sure how I would go about determining whether an object was CC or not. It would definitely take some research; might require a complete list of every object in every EP and SP.
There's a thread at MTS where we've discussed objects in lot packages. Here's a reasonable place to start:

I'm afraid that the wiki hasn't been updated with everything we know, but it's also a good resource.

What I have wound up doing is going into a lot, taking pics of all custom content, using the change tool to see where in the array of recolors a particular item is located. I have found that to be closely related to where the item is in the download folder. I have various subfolders of downloads copied to desktop. That was I can use CleanInstaller to view them even when I am in game.
This process is forcing me to organize my downloads even further. I am now putting all recolors of an object in a folder of its own. Like all quaint endtables, all club sofas. Easy then to locate any recolor. All items that I have used are then moved to an identical folder for that neighborhood. The process is also helping me to identify things that I will never use and delete them, or at least move them out of game for theme stuff that is totally out of place for my current hood.
