AMD Phenom quad core, vista, and sims 2
(1/1)
dlbfourhee:
I have searched to find an answer to no avail, so am posting a new topic. I just got a new HP computer with an AMD Phenom X4 quad core processor, Vista, Nvidia 9500 graphics card.
I have everything up to Seasons and all patches (stopped when SeruRom made its appearance). Are there any problems running Sims 2 on this setup? Is there something I need to do to make the game run better?
dlbfourhee:
I also have directX10. Do I need to install directX9? What about Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0? I have a newer version already.
I have been lurking on this site for a few years and have ALWAYS found answers to my questions. I just can't find what applies to my new computer.
Pescado, you rock.
maxon:
.Net Framework comes with Vista. I don't think you need the earlier version of Direct X - well, I never installed it and the game runs just fine. I have everything though.
chaos:
I have roughly the same setup as you, though you didn't mention what kind of video card or monitor you have, or how much memory you have. All of these things make a difference. As long as you have decent versions of all of them, you shouldn't have any problems.
dlbfourhee:
I have 8 gb Ram. Plenty to run the game. Just don't want to fubar my new computer, :o
I bought it to play my sims and do the work I need to do. I just will NOT put SecuRom on it.
Thanks for the answers.
