Does jump rope not increase fitness?
Lion:
It gains body skills and fitness interest, but not actually slim sims down. Am I the only one to have this issue?

Not sure, now that you mention it. I know I had a sim-6 who gained body skills by jumping rope, but can't recall if he gained any slimming effect.
On the other hand, it reminds me that there was one activity I saw the other day where the sims appeared to slim down well enough, but gained no body skill at all (dancing?). I'll have to check for that now too.

In my experience, it does not; when I first got AL, I started using Jump Rope to replace Do Yoga, since it did not have a body skill requirement, but all my sims started getting fat anyway, so I stopped.

syberspunk's Dancing with Fitness and Body Skilling (Updated 9/16/2008) can help.

It's still a good way to get those first three body points. My sim kids are really the only ones I allow to jump rope. At that stage, being fat isn't really an issue.
