Sims that keep hiding? (NPCs?)

When I'm playing in the University (I have Ep1 + Ep2) I notice a lot of NPCs will come to the house and my sims won't be able to interact with them easily. Every time I click to interact with them, my sim will follow them around for a while or just stand there, and the interaction will disappear from the to-do list.
So- I selected them using the Inseminator selector and found that these sims had the secret society icon in their to-do list, and the hover says "hide". ???
Any hacks out there to get these annoying NPCs to stop "hiding"??

Odd... on occasion I've had a ... glargle.... headmaster that did that. No idea why though.

Thanks, I'll try it. I didn't attempt using that hack because it seemed like the same issue that was solved in the recent patch for Uni/NL where people would stall inside a locked dorm room. (I used to work around it by using the moveobjects on cheat and then moving the sims out of the locked room in buy or build mode.)
These NPCs don't actually disappear, they just become useless and walk around the dorms while trying to 'hide'. Annoying!

I know what you mean. I also used InSiminator and discovered the hide icon on some NPC students. Very annoying.
