Make farm field visible from lots?

Is there anyway to do this? My Idea was to make a the field solid and flat and keep it a few cm above the ground so they are visible from lots.

I have been wondering about this one as well. It seems like it would be useful for neighbourhoods where you wanted multiple terrain types - the nightlife "terrain splotches" would have a purpose, then. I don't know why, but I always figured the game code used different models for neighbourhood objects in the neighbourhood view and in the lot view - though, considering how low quality they are even in the lot view, I don't see why that would be, come to think of it.

So, by moving it up a few units, you're suggesting that it might be some sort of rounding error, like when you take two tables and intersect them at different rotations, and the planes of the polygons start crapping up? Or does the game actually render the ground level and object locations differently from neighbourhood to lot?

arogers:
It has to be above the ground a bit because of a thing called Z fighting where as you correctly said the textures crap up. I might make a mesh using sketch up or something which is a solid object which borrows the farm fields textures.

I've been wishing for the same thing for the flowers. They are wasted otherwise. :(

there must be some way to make these visible. I just need to know how to clone these effects and turn them into solid flat objects. It wouldn't bother me if they didnt follow the terrain shape. ???
