Can children be vacation locals?

Will I borkinate anything if I make some children into vacation locals using the townie gun? I've got some kiddies that would fit in well with my vacation themes, but not sure if that's a Very Bad Thing (tm).

I see no reason they couldn't be, other than that it would be creepy since they'd be running around unattended.

I have one. He visits the campground and did the greeting.
