Why the hell NL keeps uninstalling UNI?
Morana:
Last night I finally decided to install Nightlife, but for some unknown reason I always get the message that I uninstalled University. The thing is that the University folder still exsists and it's fine and whole. I do use virtual DVD drive - is that the problem? Did I broke it?
I would appreciate any kind of help.
Sincerly not awesome, Morana.
EDIT: Just one more question... When I try to add a new university or downtown, the game crashes ("Application has crashed..." message). This is happening also on my brother's computer, which is far better than mine, so there must be something deeper involved.
Thanks.
Pyromaniac:
I had the same problem with Seasons. Every time I installed it, my game registered OFB as 'uninstalled' even though the folders and everything were still intact. Someone else could probably offer you a better solution, but in the end I just reinstalled everything from scratch. :-\

Maybe the registry entries got screwed up? I've been wondering if it'll work if you back up the registry entries for the game and restore it if it happens. It never happened to me though...
Morana:
Thank you, I'll try to back up them and to install the damn game again. I'm just too tired of installing and unistalling. If it won't work, what can I do...

The thing is that the University folder still exsists and it's fine and whole.
Are you sure that it's completely whole? Make sure you have a file called Sims2EP1.exe in your Program Files/EA GAMES/The Sims 2 University/TSBin folder. Sometimes an EP's executable file will mysteriously disappear, which results in an error message saying that the EP is not installed.
If the executable is missing, you should be able to copy and paste it off of your disc. No uninstalling/reinstalling required!
