Witch, does your version of the clothing rack allow to buy outerwear?

I use Christianlov's clothing rack. You can summon townies, purchase whichever type of clothing you want - except outerwear ...

Anyways, I use Christianlov's clothing rack. Handles all categories.

Do you have a later version than mine? Do you wanna share?

I've been using Inge's teleporter to move in Townies, give them a new set of clothes with Numenor's hacked coat rack, use TJ's SimBlender for makeovers and facelifts, then sending them back to the Townie pool with the teleporter. ...

TJ's blender - does that make the permanent genetic changes?

Does Christianlov's clothing rack prevent new clothing from clogging up the household closet? Do I need to move townies into the household to have it work for them, or do they just have to be controllable? I'm still unclear on these points regarding this hack.

The way I'm doing it now works (move townie in, purchase/choose outfits, make townie again), but my problem as stated in my original post is the amount of crap that gets left behind in the family's clothing selector. I don't want to have to leave my family's lot just to have a "clean" place to teleport these townie sims to for the purpose of clothing selection, nor do I want to mess around in SimPE and risk uncertain doom. What I'm looking for is something that can be accomplished in-game, and on my family's home lot without gaining a ton of useless (and usually hideously ugly) clothing choices. Anything that would allow me to delete extraneous clothing options from the family stash would be fine as well. In fact, it might even be preferable.

As far as I can tell, I can't sell clothes on a home-business lot, nor have I found any hacks that allow that. I play one family for weeks (and even months) on end, and basically never leave the home lot during a play session, so the "suggest outfit" option is worthless to me if it can't be done in a home-based business. I've just purchased Seasons today (not installed yet, have to track down updates of all my hacks first), and have no intention of getting Pets or BV, so I'm not sure if the "making a collection (containing the clothing rack) available on residential lots" solution will function for me, or even how to go about it if it is a possibility. Anyone care to elaborate?

Unfortunately no, making the changes genetic still requires SimPE.

jennydee, I don't know if this would suit your needs but you could use Theo's wardrobe cleaner plug-in for Wizards of SimPE. I use it after every age-up to get rid of the hideous clothes my Sims always get stuck in (the last one was the chicken suit). You can find it here.

If you're using BRY, you can efficient this up a bit. Make the Customer Bugger Off immediately after selling the outfit. If setting an Everyday Outfit, I'll make them selectable immediately after they pay and twirl, so I can use the Clothing Tool to regenerate their portraits.
If you want to regenerate their portrait afterwards, you can just choose "Fix Flashing Blue" for that sim, no need to make selectable.

No. I tend to forget about outerwear. There are so few choices (and really so few custom options that aren't simple recolors) that I ignore choosing outerwear even for my playables. What's the point? They all apparently shopped for their coats from the same store.
