No CD Crack for Seasons?

Halp?

Because I'm not technically literate enough to fix a broken CD drive, I downloaded a no-cd off of gamecopyworld.com to smash any possibility of TS2 Seasons withdrawal.

But when I try to load the game, after the painstaking startup vid, it freezes, and I get an error message with no text in it.

Am I royally fucked until I can afford a repair on the drive, or what?

floopyboo:
Did you get the no-cd craked exe, or the iso?

Is it for the patched version of seasons?

Did you put it in the right place?

Did you create a shortcut that points to the craked exe (if that's what you downloaded)?

This is your checklist. For safer usage of the no-cd cracks, follow the instructions that come with the download, then do whatever fancy stuff you would normally do. Also make sure you're actually downloading what you think you're downloading.

Zazazu:
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2. Delete "cigen" and "groups.cache". The lovely no-name error is what happens to me every time those need regenerating.

seveneleven:
Unfortunately, regenerating those files didn't work. D:

I have the .exe, version/patch is unlisted on the website, placing is normal, and yes, there's a shortcut to it on my desktop.

Trying to RTFM has come to no use, because Vista says the file is either corrupted or unreadable.

morriganrant:
What file type is the manual?
Where did you put the no-cd?
