Well, specifically, what steps are you going through that doesn't work?

Be sure that you are not selecting the new hairstyles and then clicking the icon in the upper left corner to collaspe the categories. You do that, and all the hairstyles get reset.

I'm guessing that was meant to inform us that the OP was indeed collapsing the categories afterwards... or a custom hair was causing the issue.
I could be wrong about both though, and the OP may just be indulging in a nip or three of something highly alcoholic in nature and posting nonsense. ;)
