Game crashing when trying to change appearance through mirror

Hmmm, that's too bad. I haven't actually loaded my game since quarantining the orphaned files that the Wrangler found. Are you sure the thumbnails weren't just missing? I always delete the CASThumbnails.package file when I remove a bunch of clothing, etc from my game. Otherwise, things get wonky.

I heard somewhere that Delphi's download organizer did that, or at least had some other problem identifying orphan files.

Yeah, I'm sure it wasn't just the thumbnails, as sims in my game had been wearing a few of the outfits at the time and weren't when I went to play until I put the "orphans" back.

I found out yesterday that it doesn't always delete actual orphans. After removing "orphans" from my downloads folder, I had a bunch of missing meshes in game when I opened it up - which returned when I put the "orphans" back in with my downloads. All my content is arranged in sub folders (clothing, makeup, hair, etc. so I know it's not because of orphans being in the wrong folders).
Did you RTFM?
Had you RTFM, you'd have know that it only detects orphans if the meshes and textures are in the same folder or a folder beneath it.

And if you had read the post you quoted, I had said my content is split into sub-folders - clothing is one sub-folder.
