The Sedona Story

page 1   [view]

In the middle of the desert, not too far from Strangetown, a collection of retail outlets has sprung up along the roadside.

page 2   [view]

Plenty of room for expansion here.

page 3   [view]

The shops are enjoying a tourist boom and a local realtor has built 12 houses on spec. They aren't selling too well

page 4   [view]

The realtor is the only currently the only resident. He immigrated to Sedona on his retirement and hopes to make his fortune in business. He'd like some occupants for 'his' houses as well.

page 5   [view]

There are so few people around, he's getting pretty desperate for company!

page 6   [view]

Our realtor is getting bored with the things he bought when he first arrived and has decided to sell them off and buy new things. He also figures, he might do better if he practised his sales technique.

page 7   [view]

Here comes his first customer

page 8   [view]

The garage sale isn't going too well. Maybe because it's dark and he has zero sales and social skills. Or maybe because he's selling overpriced junk!

page 9   [view]

He heads off to the real estate office to see if he can make some money there and meet some people.

"I have the most amazing business opportunity for you - it's an art shop - artistic souvenirs of earth just walk right off the shelves!"
"Tell me more?"

page 11   [view]

"Here's a picture of 'Abby's Art'. It's a one storey business - all of them are in this neighborhood and most of them have flat rooves. This doesn't as you can see, but it has only a few, small windows to keep out the heat. very practical."

page 12   [view]

"It may be small, but there is adequate room to display your stock. It also has a cloakroom and a dart board. Darts is an earth game and your shoppers will love it! Plenty of room for expansion of course."

page 13   [view]

"This is interesting - does everyone on earth have these... hottubs is it?"
"Hottubs - most people don't have one, but I installed this in my real estate office for my customers' pleasure.
It's a good way to relax after making a sale. Are you young ladies staying long? Perhaps I could show you around a bit....."

page 14   [view]

There's a little night club I rather like called the flamingo (thanks Ivy for my flamingos!)

page 15   [view]

You'd think this stretch of road was deserted... except there's a mail box and trashcan.

page 16   [view]

Hidden behind the dunes is a house dug into the ground. Does Research have neighbors he doesn't know about?

page 17   [view]

It turns out a group of alien clones have pooled their redundancy money together and the winning 3 have come to earth to live. If they make their fortune, they are supposed to send the money back home. Friends in Strangetown said it was a friendly place, but they ended up in Sedona.

page 18   [view]

"I don't know about you, but I want to get married and have a family. Ever since I heard you were allowed to do that here, I've been wanting a mate and children of my own."
"Are you sure it's true?"
"Yes - heard some Pollination Techs talking about one of their creche mates who had done it."
"Do you think any earthsim would have us?"
"I don't know."
"Maybe we should learn lots of things about earth and how to do well here. Then we would be attractive mates."
"That sounds like a good idea. We are all good at mechanical things."
"Yes, but not earth mechanical things and we need to prepare food."
"We should learn things from these books."
"Yes."

page 19   [view]

You can tell these guys have all been studying a long time - they've all got knowledge helmets. In fact they have more or less maxed cleaning, cooking and mechanical skill! Their money is running out though. When are they going to be brave enough to venture out and meet some.... gasp... "girls"?

page 20   [view]

The Jones family, plan on moving to Sedona. Aaa the knowledge sim and Bibi the family sim have three children, but no skills! Bibi wants another baby whereas Aaa wants to look through the telescope and learn everythings there is to know. ChiChi is a knowledge Sim like her Dad. DeeDee is the one in the fairy dress and little Eenie is the toddler. Aaa and Bibi made a big break with tradition to raise an earth style family, but their choice of names leaves a lot to be desired. A-F Jones! - almost as bad as Smith!

page 21   [view]

Outtake from this family in another hood - I'm surprised the headmaster didn't turn Chichi down for private school. Even a pregnant alien lady dancing in her underwear didn't seem to put him off his dinner!

Will Sedona grow and thrive or wither away and disappear into the dustbowl of history?
